Water
ECOSWF and Earth Justice lodged a successful lawsuit against the state of Florida to ensure the federal Clean Water Act was enforced in our state. Since then we have been working with local organizations and going to legislative hearings and government meetings to make sure that the state government enacts legislation to set appropriate Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDL's) of nitrogen and phosphate in our watersheds and enforces said TMDL's throughout the state.

ECOSWF Works to Get Clean Water Act Enforced
Written by Linda Wilson
For the past month the board and our members have focused on ensuring Florida follows the court approved EPA directive to follow the Clean Water Act and establish TMDL's(Total Maximum Daily Load) for nutrients in our waterways based on science not politics. We expect our government representatives to ensure our water bodies are clean for drinking, bathing, kayaking, and fishing, etc.
